Marion Dunn Ryan, 99 years of age, passed away peacefully on Feb. 23 at The Bishop Wicke Long Term Care Facility in Shelton.
She was born Dec. 23, 1925 in Derby to William L. Dunn and Lucy R. Dunn. She was predeceased by the love of her life Gerald V. Ryan Sr. Marion was a lifelong proud resident of Ansonia.
She was a top student at Ansonia High School, graduate of The Class of 1943.
Marion had a long and successful career at The Farrel Corp., interrupted only while she devoted her life to bringing up her five children.
She is survived by her children James Ryan (Maureen) Eileen Ryan, Carol Karkoski (Ed) and David Ryan (Linda). She was predeceased by her eldest son Gerald V. Ryan, Jr. (Eddie Lee).
Her children will cherish her memory always.
Marion treasured her grandchildren including Bryan, Michael, R.J., Megan, Katey, Emma, Colin, Alexys, and Aryanna and great grandchildren Finn, Cillian, Macklin, Carson, Carter and Marley.
Marion had so many interests, including swimming, sewing, reading, traveling, collecting thimbles, but most of all, always being there with love and patience for her family.
Friends may call on Friday, Feb. 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. The Funeral will then leave for church, with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia.
Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St. Ansonia, CT. 06401.
