Marion K. Sprague (Krick)

Marion K. Sprague, age 90, of Seymour, peacefully entered into rest on July 4, 2024, in Naugatuck. She was the devoted wife of the late Merle L. Sprague, Sr. Marion was born in Stratford on November 27, 1933, daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine (Kreider) Krick, and was a Shelton resident for most of her life before moving to Seymour for the past 20 years.

Marion started working with Howard Johnson’s before moving to South Londonderry, Vermont where she and her late husband owned and operated the Hearthstone Lodge. She returned to Shelton and worked for Bic Pen before owning and operating the Seymour Flower Shop for 25 years until her retirement in 2008. Marion enjoyed trips to the casino and dearly loved her family. She was a dear Mom” to everybody.

She is survived by four beloved children, Marilyn Gotshall (John), Mary Lathlean (Gary), Michael Sprague, and Michele Sprague (Steve Ludgis), fifteen cherished grandchildren, Merle Sprague, III (Kaleigh), Steven Sprague (Erica), Eric Gotshall (Klaudia), Courtney Gotshall, Gary Lathlean (April Walker), Adam Sprague, Victoria Lathlean, Ryan Lathlean, Ashley Sprague, Alex Gotshall, Nicholas Sprague, Justin Sprague, Taylor Wright, Nicholas D’Aiuto and Sean D’Aiuto. Ten great-grandchildren, Grayson, Aubrey, Brody, Makayla, Annabelle, Thalia, Dylan, Devyn, Scarlett, and Sophie. Two sisters, Pearl Belford and Lillian Eisenman, her brother-in-law Thomas Sprague, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three cherished sons, Merle L. Sprague, Jr., Marshall S. Sprague, and Martin A. Sprague, two brothers, Stanley and Charles Krick, and two sisters, Ethel Altieri and Louise Carney.

Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. On Tuesday friends are invited directly to St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
