Marion (Russo) Gow

Marion (Russo) Gow, age 95, of Derby, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday April 15, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Gow, Jr. for 49 years. 

Having met in high school, Marion and Harry raised their family and enjoyed a great life together. She was born in Derby on March 28,1930 the daughter of the late Ralph and Barbara (D’Agostino) Russo and was a lifelong resident of Derby. Marion was employed in the Derby School System Cafeteria for many years until her retirement. She loved being with the students and was known for giving an extra scoop of macaroni. Marion was devoted to her family, enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners and hosting holidays. She was especially proud of her Italian heritage. Marion was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles (St. Mary’s) Church in Derby.

She is survived by two daughters Janice Bowers (Bradley) and Colleen Peck (Chris Myers), two grandchildren Brian Chaplik(Melissa) and Caren Kangas (Joseph Sadick), five great grandchildren Alyza, Serena, Quinn, Harrison, Sevy, one brother George Russo and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother 

Ralph Russo, one sister Barbara Sabo and two step grandchildren Melissa Bowers and NIcholas Bowers.

Marion leaves for us a legacy of how she lived and what was important to her; Faith, Family, and Friends.

Friends may call on Friday April 25 from 9 am to 10:30 am at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary Church, Derby. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Garden Mausoleum.
