Marjorie J. Bailey, age 83, wife of 57 years to the late Howard E. Bailey Jr. and resident of Shelton, passed away Feb. 2.
She was born Jan. 3, 1935 in Shelton, daughter of the late Joseph & Olivia Treloar Lewis.
She worked as a cashier at McConney’s Farm store and was a longtime member of The Great Hill United Methodist Church in Seymour. She also volunteered at Bishop Wicke Health Center.
She leaves to cherish her memory her five daughters, Karen Rowland (Charles) of Oxford, Geralyn Ziegler Roberts of Lumberton, Texas, Laura Gabor (Karl) of Oxford, Valerie Bailey of Oxford, and Jennifer Dumas (John) of Brockton, MA, seven grandchildren, Adam (Caitlin) and Bethany Gabor, Elizabeth & Haley Rowland, Kristina Roberts, Jack & Julianna Dumas, and great grandchildren Willow & Tori Gabor. She was predeceased by three sisters, Rosemary Ziegler, Eleanor Hurst & Patricia Piwonski and her brother George Lewis.
Services celebrating the life of Marjorie Bailey will be held Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2:00 p.m. at The Great Hill United Methodist Church, 225 Great Hill Rd, Seymour, CT. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to her church.
