Marjorie J. (Benedict) Johnson, age 83 of Oxford, beloved wife of Jerome Johnson, entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Griffin Hospital, Derby. Born in Derby on July 13, 1937, she was a daughter of the late George and Mabel (Bailey) Benedict.
Marjorie was a very active lady who enjoyed baking, roller skating and exercising, especially walking and swimming. Always ready for her picture to be taken, she was very fashionable and dressed to impress. But above all else, Marjorie will be remembered for her friendship and love of family.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, survivors include her loving children, Jeryle Russell and her husband Merritt, Jr. of NY, Deborah Russell of Middlebury, Alan Johnson of FL, Ronald Johnson of Waterbury, and Sharon Russell and husband Eric of Bethany; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren (with 3 on the way), 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Marjorie was predeceased by one brother and 3 sisters.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family and arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483.
