Mark “Omar” Petroski, age 60, of Derby entered into rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Griffin Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Derby, on July 9, 1956, son of the late Edward Petroski, Sr. and the late Ann (Bizuk) Petroski. Mark was a lifelong Valley resident. He was employed by Stop and Shop since the age of 16. Mark was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
He is the loving father of, Dan and Elizabeth Petroski, step-father of, Douglas and Steven Ackley, son-in-law of Sharon Lockshier, and brother-in-law of Melinda Lockshier. Mark is the beloved grandfather of Brooke Ackley. He is also survived by his nurse and good friend Victor Gonzales. Mark was predeceased by his brother Edward Petroski, Jr. The family would like to thank Victor Gonzales, RN and the entire DNS for their care and support of Mark. Mark was known for his sayings, “Do what’s best for you” and “Do what makes you happy.”
Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. His funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. His burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daniel and Elizabeth Petroski Educational Trust Fund through the funeral home.
