Martha Minerly Caiza, 57, of Derby, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on August 17, 2013, at Griffin Hospital.
Martha was born in Derby on December 19, 1955, daughter of the late Harry and Muriel Minerly.
A resident of Derby for many years, she was employed at the former Life Touch Studios in Derby until her retirement. Martha enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by three loving sons, Sean Minerly (Danielle) of Seymour, Freddie Lawson Jr. of Derby and Ruben Caiza (Ann Marie) of Seymour, a sister, Mildred Estrella (Carlos) of Ansonia, former husband, Julio Caiza (Hilda) of Derby, nine grandchildren, Jacob & Giana Minerly, Donyell, Alex, Kamari, and Kamarion Lawson, Ruben Caiza Jr., Hallie and Victoria Caiza, several nieces, nephews, and canine friend, Brutus.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday August 21, 2013, from 5 – 8 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 10:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Private burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Shelton at the convenience of the family.
