Martin Blanko, Sr. of Oxford, CT beloved husband of 34 years to Patricia Tryonoviech Blanko, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
He was born in Derby CT on March 23, 1939, son of the late Stanley and Helen (Varsanik) Blanko. Marty was an avid sportsman; he was a well-known local athlete, inducted into the Seymour High School Sports Hall of Fame; he enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.
Marty will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts. He is survived by his children, Debra Powell, Cheryl Blanko, Bonnie Gwinn, Frank Dease and Michael Dease; his grandchildren, Meagan Cegelka, Eric Gwinn, Lee Ann Powell, Crystal Chapman, Dylan Powell, Trevor Dease, Anabel Dease, Juliet Dease, Christopher Dease and Lucas Dease; his great grandchildren Joselyn, Cyrus, Avery, Emerson, Brianna, Joshua and Nevaeh; his brothers Edward Blanko and Stanley Blanko and sister Jean DiMauro. He was pre-deceased by his son Marty Blanko, Jr.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour, CT Sunday, November 28 from 3pm to 6:30pm with a funeral service at 6:30pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts in memory of Marty, may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, through the funeral home.
