Mary A. (Salvetti) Piacenzo

Mary A. (Salvetti) Piacenzo, age 93, entered eternal rest on January 26, 2024, at the Ludlowe Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Fairfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Hugo Piacenzo.

Mary was born in Watertown, MA on April 16, 1930, daughter of the late George Salvetti and Liberata Epifano D’Atri. She was employed for several years at the former Nature Food Store in the old Ansonia Mall. Mary had a fabulous sense of style and beauty. She was up to par with all the latest fashion trends and was always very meticulously dressed. Mary enjoyed following celebrity life and keeping up with what was happening. She was religious and practiced her faith by watching the Daily Mass. Her hobbies included exercising, bike riding, tennis, bowling, and cooking. Mary was also an avid dog lover.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Ronald DeTullio of Taos, New Mexico, a daughter, Maria Pacelli of Ansonia, grandchildren, Antonia Pacelli, and Carla Pacelli, whom she loved spending time with, Mildred DeTullio, William DeTullio, Colleen Orts, Kevin DeTullio, Serena DeTullio Struber, Zareth DeTullio, Uma DeTullio and Chayla DeTullio, eight great-grandchildren, especially Chase Little, and daughter-in-law, Maureen DeTullio of Derby, She was predeceased by her son George DeTullio, four brothers and son-in-law, Salvatore Pacelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday morning, February 1, 2024, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to St. Mary’s Church in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
