Mary Ann L. DellaRocco

Mary Ann L. DellaRocco, age 82, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 12, 2021, in the comfort of her home with her loving daughter by her side. 

Mrs. DellaRocco was born in Bridgeport on March 31, 1938, daughter of the late Frank J. Melanson and Lea M. Legasse Melanson and grew up in the Naugatuck Gardens section of Milford. Mary Ann raised her family and worked in Milford until 1984 when she moved to Ocala, Florida with her second husband Peter DellaRocco. They moved back to Connecticut to live in Derby in 1999. 

Mary Ann loved to be surrounded by her family. She enjoyed music and dancing, traveling with her husband, painting, sewing, gardening, puzzles and board games, Jeopardy, the Hallmark Channel, the New York Yankees and the UCONN Husky’s. She also found peace in her local church activities and community. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Robert C. Michaud (Ruth) of Manassas, VA, and Bruce J. Michaud of Wallingford, a daughter, Karen Terebesi of Derby, a brother, Frank R. Melanson (Patricia) of Milford, sister in law Betsy Melanson of NC, grandchildren, Peter Terebesi (Shannon) of Hamden, Nichole Harris (Britt) of MI, Elizabeth Michaud of FL, John Michaud (Lilie) of VA, Bruce Michaud (Meg) of NY and Jessica Michaud of RI, along with great granddaughter Camila Michaud and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David A. Michaud of Woodbury, CT, brothers, Roland Melanson (Mary) and Norman Melanson, sisters, Leatrice Liposky (Joseph) and Lucille Melanson. 

Mary Ann is also survived by Peter’s family, Phil DellaRocco (Christina) of SC, Carl DellaRocco (Beverly) of Ansonia, Karen Fearnley (Arthur) of Derby, Susan Zamborelli and their children, grandchildren and extended family. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday January 19, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mount Saint Peters Cemetery, 219 New Haven Avenue in Derby. Due to the pandemic, visiting hours will be private. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME in Ansonia has been privileged with her arrangements. A celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be announced when we can all safely gather. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Ann’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
