Mary (Behuniak) Read, age 99, a lifelong resident of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in her home with her loving family by her side.
She was the wife of the late Warren D. Read. Mary was born in Shelton on October 1, 1921, daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Skurat) Behuniak. Mary was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelton, and a member of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter. She was predeceased by her brother Daniel Behuniak, and two sisters Anna Kingersky and Julia Dorso.
She will be remembered by all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Due to the covid 19 pandemic a private family funeral will be held with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 188 Rocky Rest Rd., Shelton. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton are entrusted with the arrangements.
