Mary (DiLisio) Pawloski

Mary (DiLisio) Pawloski, age 99, entered peaceful rest on December 22, 2022, at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton, CT. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley W. Pawloski. 

Mary was born in Derby on September 3, 1923, daughter of the late Carmine and Marion Geloso DiLisio. A resident of Ansonia for most of her life, she worked as a seamstress and independently cleaned homes. She was also the housekeeper/cook at Holy Rosary Church for many years and previously worked part-time at East Side Greenhouses in Ansonia. Mary was a devout communicant of Holy Rosary Church where she faithfully participated in Adoration. She was also a member of the Rosary Guild and worked each year at the Italian Festa. Mary will be remembered as a kind, caring, generous woman who deeply loved her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and crocheting, especially blankets and clothing apparel to give to others, socializing and participating in group events. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, MaryLou O’Donnell and her husband James of Seymour and Barbara DiPinto and her husband Mark of Burlington, CT, daughter-in-law, Mary Pawloski of Webster, NY, grandchildren, Karen Palange (Derek) of Beacon Falls, James O’Donnell and Michael O’Donnell of Seymour, Kate Stone (Andrew) of Genoa, NY, Aileen Levy (Brandon) of Tully, NY, Michelle DiPinto of Richmond, VT, Rebecca Schwoerke (Hunter) and Marie DiPinto of Bristol, CT, great-grandchildren, Dakota and Kolbree Palange, Grayson and Emma Levy and Chase and Caleb Stone, a sister, Theresa Jones of PA, sisters-in-law, Anna DiLisio of Shelton and Jean DiLisio of Seymour, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Stanley J. Pawloski, brothers, Frank DiLisio, John DiLisio, Joseph DiLisio Sr. and Carmen DiLisio, and sisters, Pauline Garofalo, Frances Viega and Carmella Bernabi. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the nurses and staff of Cherry Brook Health Care Center and the McLean Hospice team for their wonderful care. 

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday December 29, 2022, from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
