Mary Duncan Drew, 89 of Orange passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born in Derby on July 9, 1931 daughter of the late Agnes Hogg and Alexander Duncan. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, George A. Drew and her sister Jean Duncan. Mary had been employed by B.F. Goodrich, Sikorsky, D.M. Read and assisted her husband in his business, United Cigar Store in Derby.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory four children: Sandra Sullivan and her husband Brian of Meriden, Bethanne Winkle and her husband Craig of Orange, George A. Drew, Jr. of Orange, Christine Drew of Branford, cherished grandchildren Craig J. Winkle Jr. of Orange and Katherine D. Winkle of Milford as well as nieces and cousins.
Mary was known for her love of family and a kind heart. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mary was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ansonia where she had been a nursery school teacher and piano player.
The family wishes to thank Vitas Home Health Hospice Care and their many caregivers. Per Mary’s request there are no calling hours and her funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Rising Sun Charitable Foundation, P.O. Box 472, Branford, CT 06405 in honor of her granddaughter.
