Mary E. Cawthra, age 61, of Charlotte, NC entered into rest on Monday September 7,2015 in CT Hospice Branford with her loving family by her side.
Mary was born in Bridgeport on November 30, 1953 daughter of the late Gordon R. Hiltz, Sr., and Alice Baker Hiltz, and was a resident of Charlotte for 10 years previously living in Shelton for most of her life
Mary enjoyed going shopping, gardening, watching the NY Yankees, and UCONN Basketball. The light of her life was her grandchildren.
She is the beloved mother of Tracey Carroll and her husband Chris, and Karen Cawthra and her companion Terrence Dunn, Jr. She is the sister of James Hiltz (Janice), Paul Hiltz (Margaret), Laura Rydingsward (Ray), her twin brother Gordon Hiltz, Jr (Janet), Sally Morse, and the late Alice Woodward. She is the cherished grandmother of Christopher Carroll, Jr. Patrick Carroll, Kaitlyn Carroll, Terrence Dunn, III and the late Alyssa Rose Carroll. Mary also leaves 15 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet her family on Friday from 3 to 6 PM with a funeral service at 6 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. Burial will be private.
