Mary Ellen Hoeppner, age 77, of Shelton, CT entered into rest on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Daughter of the late Leslie and Jeanne (Laborde) McGran, she is survived by her loving spouse Robert P. Hoeppner, and their children Eric, Jennifer, and Matthew, sister-in-law of Jean McGran and sister of the late John McGran. Her strong commitment to family will live on through Bob, a compassionate, devoted husband, who just like Mary Ellen, always put family first. Though Mary Ellen has rejoined loved ones who have passed before her, she will always be dancing in Bob’s heart, filling his soul with her love and tender spirit. As a life-long elementary school teacher, Mary Ellen always modeled respect for others, while leading with an honest, open, loving heart, filled with grace.
Eric, his wife Danielle, Matt, his wife Penny, and Jennifer will carry on these qualities most important to their mother, as they raise their own children. Mary Ellen’s welcoming smile, carefree laughter and sense of wonder will forever be present in the lives of her grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Lauren, Chase, Brynn, and Reagan. They will live by Grandma’s life lessons, knowing how deeply they are loved. Family and friends are invited to honor Mary Ellen’s life, Saturday November 13th at 10AM, St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton, CT.
Burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery, Lane St., Shelton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul (https://ssvpusa.org), which provides relief and friendship to those in need.
