Mary G. (Grassi) Martin, age 90, entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening, April 24, 2021, at Glendale Center in Naugatuck.
Mrs. Martin was born in Bridgeport on February 6, 1931, daughter of the late Frank and Philomena Conge Grassi. She grew up in Bridgeport, resided in Derby for many years and settled in Ansonia in 1990. She was employed as an administrative assistant at the former Montesi Volkswagen in West Haven and later at the former Petrol Plus in Derby, until her retirement. Mary was a devout communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and a member of the Ansonia Senior Center.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Thomas Martin (Gina) of Oxford and Scott Martin (Brenda) of Prospect, a daughter, Debra Martin of Southington, sisters, Dolores Flokos (Ronald) of Naugatuck and Barbara Storer-DeVito (Alan) of West Haven, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas A. Grassi Sr. and a sister, Lucille S. Grassi.
A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday April 29, 2021, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through to pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. At 11:00 am, her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
