Mary Grace (Salvio) Mascolo, 67, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Domenic L. Mascolo.
Mary was born November 9, 1950 in Wolcott, CT to the late Joseph and Rose (Santaguida) Salvio. She graduated from Wolcott High School, class of 1968, and attended Southern Connecticut State University. Mary spent much of her professional career in the banking industry, working for such as institutions as Colonial Bank and Bank of Boston before becoming a pension specialist where she worked for The Hartford, The Robinson Company, and The Sinclair Insurance Group, until finally meeting her second family at Pension Consultants in 2006. In her free time, Mary loved all things related to music. From musicals to concerts, she listened, danced, and attended live shows as often as possible. Mary was also a proud member of the Connecticut Accordion Association.
Besides her husband, Domenic, of 21 years, she leaves two daughters: Grace Suchy and her husband, Fred, of Bulverde, TX; and Lisa Rogers, and her husband, Lee, of Meriden. She also leaves her two beloved shih-tzus, Layla and Fang, as well as her five “Granddogs” as she lovingly called them: Willie Joel, Boz, Alfie, Nova, and Matlock.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to SS. Peter & Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
