Mary J. Burblis Tabaka, 91, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on April 16, 2013, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Tabaka.
Mrs. Tabaka was born in Ansonia on December 12, 1921, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Pietrowicz Burblis. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was devoted to the care and well-being of her family. Mary was a devoted communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia.
She is survived by two loving daughters, Lorraine E. Integlia (Peter) of Ansonia and Donna M. Freeman (Richard) of MA, a brother, Walter Burblis and a sister, Victoria T. Burblis of Ansonia, grandchildren, Lorene Alper (Preston) of IL, Richard Tabaka (Marilyn) of Naugatuck, and Joseph Tutrone of MA, cherished great-grandchildren, Carson Riley Alper and Loriel Mari Alper, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Richard F. Tabaka, brothers, John, Joseph, and Zygmunt Burblis and a sister, Genevieve B. Choszczyk.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 18, 2013, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, her funeral will be held at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, for Masses to be celebrated, in Mary’s memory.
