Mary J. D’Alessio

Mary J. D’Alessio, 94, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2020, at Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael D’Alessio.

Mrs. D’Alessio was born in Ansonia, CT on March 8, 1926, daughter of the late Vincent and Michaelina DiDio Spallino. She resided in Ansonia, CT her entire life before moving to be closer to her family. She was employed as a secretary at the former Charlton Press in Derby for thirty-five years, until her retirement. Mary was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and a member of its Rosary Guild. She also volunteered for many years for the American Red Cross assisting during blood drives as well as Griffin Hospital. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Michael V. D’Alessio (Sharon) of Centralia, IL, James A. D’Alessio (Mary Ann) of Charlotte, NC and Dennis C. D’Alessio (Deborah) of Sylmar, CA, three granddaughters, Cassandra D’Alessio, Brianna D’Alessio South and Stephanie D’Alessio Long, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Spallino. 

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday October 8, 2021 from 4:00pm‑6:00pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, October 9, 2021, all are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, meeting directly, at Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia. A graveside service will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
