Mary Kathryn Gleason, age 68 of Southport, died Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011, at the CT Hospice, Branford. Born in Logansport, IN on December 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John Philip and Kathryn Cecelia Graf Gleason.
Ms. Gleason was raised in Dobbs Ferry, NY and resided in Switzerland, Miami, and Westport before settling in Southport 10 years ago. She graduated from WCSU with a BSRN Degree and then graduated from the University of Miami with APRN Degree.Ms. Gleason worked with many nursing agencies as a Nurse Practitioner, until the time of her illness. She was an avid photographer and enjoyed printing and processing her own film. She will be long remembered for her inner strength to over come hardships she faced in life.
Her tenacity to persevere with exceptional whit and humor inspired all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted children, Ronda Zalesnki and her husband, Robert of Shelton and Sean Steigerwald and his wife, Carrie of OH; brothers, Philip G. Gleason of NYC, and Edward Gleason of NY; cherished granddaughters, Shae and Skye Zalenski of Shelton and Preston and Audrey Steigerwald of OH.
