Mary Lou Deptula, age 85, wife of the late Matthew Deptula and lifelong resident of Ansonia entered into eternal rest Jan. 1.
She was born Nov. 3, 1937 in Derby, daughter of the late Richard and Josephine Mead Mace. She worked in customer service for S.N.E.T. and later as the first employee for the then newly created U.I. Credit Union.
Mary Lou graduated from The Assumption School and Ansonia High School, Class of ’55. She was an avid sports fan and lived cheering on the New York Yankees, New York Giants and UCONN Huskies. She was a member of The Charter Hose Ladies’ Auxiliary and served on the board of The Ansonia Historical Society.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Mary E. Deptula of New Haven & Kathleen A Gonzalez, son Matthew D. Deptula (Kathleen) of Beacon Falls, grandchildren Nicole M. McNamara (Patrick), Marissa E. Gonzalez (Ansonia) Jacqueline A. Gonzalez of Ansonia and Ryan M. & Matthew E. Deptula, and two great grandchildren Landon M. Gonzalez & Leanna M. Green.
Friends may call on Sunday Jan. 8, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 12 NOON at The Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St. Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to her church.
