Mary Marcarelli, 78, wife of the late Alexander Marcarelli, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday Sept. 3, 2009 at the Griffin Hospital in Derby.
Mrs. Marcarelli was born in New Haven on July 3, 1931 daughter of the late Bartholomew and Mae Fitzgerald Flynn. A resident of Ansonia since 1960, she was employed in the kits department in the Meyers Building at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford for 25 years until her retirement. Mary was very proud of her Irish heritage and especially enjoyed Irish music. She is survived by beloved son John A. “Jack” Marcarelli of Ansonia, special nieces, Ann Franco and Kathleen Clemente of Ansonia and Loreen Brelsford of Southbury and several other nieces and nephews and her canine friend Maggie. She was predeceased by a brother Raymond Flynn and sisters Dorothy Flynn, Helen Marcarelli, and Agnes Howard. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday September 8, 2009 at 9:30 am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on TUESDAY MORNING from 8:00 am until the procession leaves for church.
