Mary Rose Churma, age 95, of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday March 16, 2015, in the Griffin Hospital Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Churma.
She was born in Derby on July 16, 1919, daughter of the late Peter and Jenny (Bajus) Wysowski.
She was employed at the former B.F. Goodrich in Shelton, and later in her life earned a GED from Shelton High School, and was employed for many years as a Technician at Philips Medical Systems until her retirement in 1990.
She was a member of the Russian American Club in Shelton, a member of the Shelton Senior. Citizen Center, and a member of the DAV Ladies Auxiliary.
Mary loved to work in her yard and enjoyed polka dancing, and polka music. Her family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers John Kozlowski, and Nancee Impellizeri, also Peter Danielczyk for making Mary feeling special with his music.
She is the beloved mother of Barbara Majeski, and Sharon Churma, and she also leaves several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Henry Majeski, two brothers Stephen and Joseph Wysowski.
Friends may greet her family on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. A panakhyda service will be held at 6:00 PM in the funeral home. On Friday her procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 9:45 AM for a funeral service at 10:30 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ansonia. Her burial will take place in the spring in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
