Michael A. Bonavita, 65, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2017, as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Michael was born in Derby on July 6, 1951, son of the late Victor and Ann Orazietti Bonavita Sr. He graduated from Ansonia High School in 1969 and earned his Bachelor of Art’s Degree from S.C.S.U. in 1973. Michael loved history, volunteered at Griffin Hospital and was a member of the Valley Social Club and Birmingham Group.
He is survived by a loving brother, Victor M. Bonavita Jr. and his wife Gayle of Seymour, nephews, Victor M. Bonavita III and David J. Bonavita (Jake Marsden) of Manhattan, NY, an uncle, Nick Tricco of Boca Raton, FL and several cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday June 19, 2017, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday, his funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Entombment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Garden Mausoleum in Derby.
