Michael A. Cavanaugh, age 43, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on September 4, 2022, in his home.
Michael was born in Hammonton, NJ on October 10, 1978, beloved son of Carol Rogers Cavanaugh of Ansonia and the late Raymond Cavanaugh. He graduated from Ansonia High School in 1995 and attended Southern Connecticut State University. Michael was employed as a waiter/sommelier at the Union League Café in New Haven for many years. Very talented, he loved music, especially playing the keyboard and was a fantastic cook, always using the freshest and finest ingredients. He was also a certified nurse assistant and recently earned his emergency medical technician certification. Michael was very religious and enjoyed reading the Bible and attending services at Haven of Rest Baptist Church in West Haven and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his mother, Carol, he leaves to cherish his memory, a brother, Leslie J. Rivino Jr. of Stratford, a sister, Lisa Dinsmoor (Alan) of Middlebury, a niece, Christin Tarnoczy and nephew, Joshua Tarnoczy of Bristol, and close family friends, Naomi and Nicole Lynch of New Jersey. He was predeceased by his sister, Lori Lynn Jerry.
A private funeral for family and close friends will be held followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
