Michael E. Campanelli

Michael E. Campanelli, age 39, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on March 28, 2023, at Waterbury Hospital. 

Michael was born in Derby on March 25, 1984, beloved son of Ronald and Margaret Eletto Campanelli of Naugatuck. He was a graduate of Seymour High School where he was a scholar athlete excelling in soccer, a member of the wrestling team and ran track. Michael went on to attend Springfield College where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in physical education. He taught secondary level physical education for the first few years of his career, spent some time at the family beach home in Wildwood New Jersey landscaping then later was employed as a field operations manager for CMC Energy Services in Wallingford. Michael loved being outdoors, and was thrilled to drive and tinker with anything that had a motor, especially self-built remote controlled cars. 

He enjoyed skydiving and racing corvettes. Michael was a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do where he attained numerous trophies and awards. He found solace in fishing, mostly with his nephews and brother-in-law. His daughter Madysen was the love of his life in the three short years they had together and he was also a proud dog dad” to his canine buddy Nala. Michael’s determination and will to give remained at the forefront. After his passing, his generosity as an organ donor will ensure others to live on. There truly will be life after death for Michael. 

In addition to his parents, Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his fiancée, Sarah Kenyon of Naugatuck, daughter, Madysen Eletto Campanelli of Naugatuck, step-son, Dylan Kenyon of Naugatuck, sister, Rebecca Champagne (Christopher) of Seymour, nephews, Brayden and Graysen Champagne, niece Adysen Champagne, canine buddy Nala and many friends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, by meeting directly at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia at 12:00 noon for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Mausoleum in Derby. There will be no public visitation.
