Michael F. Anziano, Sr., age 98, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Shelton. He was the devoted husband of the late Louise M. (Britt) Anziano.
Michael was born in Bridgeport on January 27, 1914 son of the late Antonio and Bellonia (Mastroianni) Anziano and was the owner and operator of Anzy’s Lawn Mower Sales & Service.
He is the loving father of Michael F. Anziano, Jr., Louise Simonetti and her husband, Lt. Col. (retired) John Simonetti, son-in-law, Mike Vickerelli, a daughter-in-law Fran Anziano, and brother of Peg Harry. Michael also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Michele D’Amato(Mark), Kristen Stauber, Brian Anziano, Michael F. Anziano III, Victoria Anziano, John M. Simonetti(fiance, Blair), Capt. Joseph Simonetti(Jessica), Maris Vickerelli and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, LauraJane Vickerelli, brother, Tony Anziano and sister, Laura Anziano Risi.
Friends may call on Friday from 3 – 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton, CT. On Friday, his funeral will proceed from the funeral home at 9:45 am to St. Mark’s Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in the Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
