Michael J. Giordanella

Michael J. Giordanella, 87, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday December 1, 2012, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Laurel-Anne Berge Giordanella.

Mr. Giordanella was born in Bridgeport on March 8, 1925, son of the late Anthony and Francesca Covato Giordanella. A resident of Ansonia for 40 years, he was employed as a truck driver for the former Holmes Transportation in Milford until his retirement. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he honorably served during WW 2. 

In addition to his wife Laurel-Anne, he is survived by a loving son, Anthony M. Giordanella and his wife Heather George of New Haven, two daughters, Katherine Hunyadi and Elyse Olaussen, both of FL, a brother, Matthew Giordanella of NC, two sisters, Sadie Fanali of CA and Patrina Crowell of NC, two grandchildren, Kari and Ricky Hunyadi, two special and devoted nieces, Maria Crowell of Stratford and Tina Moccio of Ansonia, and several other nieces and nephews. 

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday December 4, 2012, from 5 – 7:30 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:30 pm, a funeral service and celebration of Mike’s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. U.S. Navy military honors will be accorded.
