Michael J. Impellitteri Jr., 66, of Ansonia, entered into rest on January 5, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Impellitteri was born in Derby on January 5, 1946, son of the late Deacon Michael J. and Angelina DiMauro Impellitteri Sr. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed as an advertising salesman for the former WADS Radio Station in Ansonia. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he honorably served during the Vietnam War. Michael was very active in public service and in the Ansonia Community. He served as a Hearing Officer in Ansonia, Chairman of the Ansonia Historical Society for 14 years, Past President of the former Ansonia Lions Club, Past Commander of the American Legion in Ansonia, and a member of the V.F.W. and the Catholic War Veterans in Derby.
He is survived by three sisters, Maria Zacharko (Stephen) of Seymour, Ellen Apfel (Russell) of St. Augustine, FL, and Joyce Impellitteri of Ansonia, three nephews, Max Zacharko of Seymour and Sanford and Steven Apfel of FL, and many friends. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Dee Nicholas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday January 13, 2012, at 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Interment with U.S. Navy military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on THURSDAY from 5 – 7 pm.
