Michael P. DelVecchio Jr.

Michael P. DelVecchio Jr., age 81, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2018, in the comfort of his home, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ann M. Pinto DelVecchio.

Mr. DelVecchio was born in Derby on Oct. 18, 1936, son of the late Michael and Katherine Mazzola DelVecchio Sr. A resident of the Valley area his entire life, he was employed as a tool & die maker at the former Apex Tool & Die in Shelton and later at Cover-It Garages in West Haven. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 28 at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. 

In addition to his wife Ann, he is survived by a son, Anthony DelVecchio of VA, daughters, Debra Jones of VA, Christine Taylor (Ken) of Southbury and Michele Feigenblatt of Shelton, step-daughters, Kimberly Conlon (Tim) of Derby and Madeline Marquis (Gary) of Newington, grandchildren, Jessica Sawyer (Jay), Howard and Brittini Jones, Brooke and Derek Taylor and Aubrey, Alannah, Madison and Jillian Feigenblatt, step-grandchildren, Maria Conlon, Timothy Conlon (Cristina), Brian and Christina McCourt and Stephanie Horwath (Mordechai), seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Robin Tuttle, a step-son, Robert Turziano and three great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 25, 2018, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, his funeral will begin at 9:45 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
