Michael P. Keenan

Michael P. Keenan, age 84, of Derby, entered into rest on Wednesday April 8, 2020 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation. He is the devoted husband of 62 years to Norma Casini Keenan. He was born in West Haven on June 14, 1935, son of the late Franis and Lucy McGowan Keenan and was a resident of Derby for most of his life.

Michael served in the US. Marine Corp. He was a Car Salesman for many years at Dworkin Chevrolet before his retirement.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family. At family gatherings, he would always say how proud he was of all of his children and could not believe what he and his wife Norma had created. He loved boating, fishing and clamming with his sons and grandchildren in Rhode Island. He loved traveling with his wife to many beautiful destinations. He loved gardening with his wife and was so proud of the first place honors they received for their garden in the Derby In Bloom Contest.

He is the beloved father of Gayle Dorosh and her husband Robert, Michael Keenan, Jr and his wife Elisa, Jeffrey Keenan and Mary Beth Gilmore, loving grandfather of Justin Dorosh and his wife Tessa, Jonathan Dorosh, Megan Keenan, Kelly Keenan, Lauren Keenan and Tyler Keenan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by nine siblings, Francis Keenan, Jr., Robert Keenan, Alice Hughes, Edward Keenan, Mary Elie, Kathryn Friend, Barbara McPartland, Rita Prete, John Keenan.

Due to the pandemic health crisis a public memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced in St. Jude Church, Derby along with calling hours at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby, who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
