Michael R. Sanko, age 53, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Bridgeport. He is the devoted husband of Margaret (Peg) White Sanko.
The loving son of Robert and Virginia Burnaka Sanko, Mike was born in New Haven on January 1, 1961, and has been a lifelong Shelton resident. Mike earned his bachelor degree from the University of Bridgeport.
He was the owner and operator of Hydro Works in Shelton for over 25 years. He was an avid gardener, Mets and Patriots Fan, and formerly played in the Shelton Men’s Rec Softball League.
Mike is the beloved father of Steven and Allison Sanko, the cherished brother of Karen and Kevin Kubicko, loving uncle of Jacquelyn Kubicko, nephew of Loraine Swartz, and son-in-law of Judith White. Michael also leaves loving cousins and many dear friends.
Friends may greet his family on Monday, May 19th, from 4 to 7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. On Tuesday, May 20th, friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 10 am at the Riverview Funeral Home. A private burial will follow.
At the request of Michael’s family in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The Sanko Children’s College Fund in care of the funeral home.
