Mildred A. Stachowicz

Mildred A. Stachowicz, 91, of Ansonia, formerly of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on her 91st birthday, March 6, 2015, at the Willows of Woodbridge. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Walter P. Stachowicz Sr.

Mrs. Stachowicz was born in Ansonia on March 6, 1924, daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret Kazokas Bujanauskas. She was a 1941 graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy now known as Laurelton Hall. Mildred was employed at B.F. Goodrich and Wiffle Ball in Shelton and retired from BIC Corp. in Milford. She was a devoted lifelong communicant of St. Anthony Church in Ansonia and a member of Knights of Lithuania Council 135. 

She is survived by her loving children, Arline Field (Douglas) of Peachtree City, GA, Christine Stack of Torrington, Walter P. Stachowicz Jr. (Jo-Ann) of Inverness, FL, Lorraine Kapinos of Ansonia and George Stachowicz (Maureen) of Oxford, cherished grandchildren, Karen Asselin (Bryan) of Torrington, Sally Mugglin (Jason) of Binghamton, NY, Pete Stachowicz of Hilo, HI, Kellie Hannon (Travis) of Atlanta, GA, Lynn Lam (Chi) of Oxford, Kevin Stachowicz of Beacon Falls and Lauren Stachowicz of Oxford, great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Mugglin, Brody and Brett Asselin, London Hannon and Christopher Lam and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Bujanauskas and a sister, Sr. Mary Arline Bujanauskas, R.S.M.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday March 10, 2015, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Private burial will take place in the family plot in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will take place on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church at the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mildred’s memory may be made to St. Anthony Church 100th Anniversary Celebration through the funeral home. Please make checks payable to St. Anthony Church.
