Mildred Ann Fatterusso, age 82, of Ansonia, entered into rest on Monday February 1, 2021 in her home with her loving family by her side.
She was the wife of 31 years to the late Donald Fatterusso. She was born in Derby on January 13, 1939, daughter of the late Thomas and Mildred Ann (Sapitowitz) Gillon. Mildred was secretary for Gordon Rubber of Derby for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the 1956 Graduating Class of Derby High School and the Valley Civil Defense during the flood of 1955. Mildred loved traveling especially to Ireland and was an avid UCONN Women’s Husky Fan. Most importantly she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother of an ever growing brood.
She is the beloved mother of Eugene Joseph Melewski and his wife Julie Ann Lapham Melewski, Thomas Walter Melewski and his wife Carolyn Sullivan Melewski, Mark Eugene Melewski, Lisa Hoven Phillips and her husband Marko Hoven, loving grandmother of Ryan, Ian, Alexander, Nicholas, Mallory, Christina, Casey, and Zoe Melewski, who took care of her grandmother the last two years of her life, and Rebecca and Lara Hoven, great grandmother of Savannah and Madison Melewski. She is also survived by a cousin Patsy Mazeau, lifelong friend Ann Sotak, a sister-in-law Patricia Virzi and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Maxine Bloom Ross. Friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday February 6, 2021 at 11 am in Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Dr. Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. Mask and Social Distance Guidelines are required when attending the Mass and Cemetery. Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby are entrusted with the arrangements.
