Milton T. Judson, age 89, a longtime Ansonia resident currently of Wesley Heights in Shelton, passed away Feb. 19.
He was born Feb. 23, 1926 in Derby, son of the late John& Gertrude Jacks Judson. Milton was a veteran of U.S. Navy, participating in the D‑day invasion while serving aboard the LST 357 during WWII. He worked for over 40 years as a Lab Technician for The Farrel Corporation. Upon retirement he moved away for a time to Vermont with his beloved late wife Betty; they both volunteered at Bennington Hospital and served on the board of the Woodford Estates Assoc. He was awarded a Life Active Membership for more than 50 years of service as a volunteer fireman for Eagle Hose Hook & Ladder Fire Co. #6. He was a member of The Christ Episcopal Church & church Vestry in Ansonia, he was also a former president of the church Men’s Club. Milton was an avid and loyal fan of the N.Y. Giants, N.Y. Mets and especially the UCONN women’s basketball team.
He is survived by his daughter Barbara Quinn and her husband Rick of Ansonia, his son Arthur Judson and his wife Holly of Tolland, grandchildren Jeffrey Quinn and his wife Heather of Durham, Larissa Giordano and her husband David of Southington, Cathy Dembek and her husband Phil of Oxford, Rylee and Colby Judson, both of Tolland, 6 great grandchildren: Ethan, Devin, Jack, Shawn, Justin, Meghan, as well as nephews Howell Williams and his wife Loreen of Ansonia and Kevin Monck and his wife Sarah of Orange. He was predeceased by great grandchild Kaitlyn.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King& Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) Memorial services with Father Richard Beattie will begin at 6:00 p.m.
