Monroe “Monte” Kasch

Monroe Monte” Kasch, 71, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning October 2, 2014, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Teresa Terry” Pedenski Kasch.

Monte was born in Bridgeport on July 29, 1943, son of the late Morris Kasch and Shirley Finklestein Lopow.

A resident of Derby for 45 years, he was employed as an inspector at Sikorsky Aircraft for 28 years until his retirement in 2007. Monte enjoyed playing cards and visiting the casino’s, especially in Las Vegas, where he and Terry visited over 30 times. They also vacationed on many cruises. Monte was an avid bowler, loved watching sports and an avid fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees.

In addition to his wife Terry, he is survived by a brother, Martin Lopow of Bridgeport, brother in law, Anthony Pedenski of Derby and many friends.

Visiting will take place on Saturday October 4, 2014, from 8:30 am until 9:40 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 9:40 am, his funeral will process to St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.

In lieu of flowers, Terry would appreciate Masses said in Monte’s memory.
