Nancy A. (Hamilton) Faber

Nancy A. (Hamilton) Faber, age 85, of Shelton, beloved wife to Emil Faber, was peacefully taken home to the Lord surrounded by her loving family on March 24, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.

Nancy was born in Bridgeport on August 24, 1928, daughter of the late William and Mildred Hamilton. Nancy was a lifetime resident of Shelton and a member of the Huntington Congregational Church for over 50 years. She married Emil at the Shelton Methodist Church on June 7, 1952. They were married for 62 years and they shared many beautiful memories together.

An entrepreneur for her time, Nancy owned Fashion Beauty Shop on Howe Avenue and retired from Philips Medical in Shelton after working as a billings clerk for many years. She loved a nice manicure and the perfect perm. Her love for travel took her and Emil all over the world, a book in hand wherever she went. Nancy had many passions in life but most of all she loved her family. A fighter until the very end, she waited until all her loved ones were present to let go.

She is survived by her beloved children William Faber and his wife Marilyn of Shelton, Glenn Faber and his wife Judy of Brookfield, The Reverend Kathy Faber and her husband The Reverend Wayne Strever of Somers and her loving grandchildren Shawn, Michelle, Kellie, and Jeffrey Faber, and Nancy Strever.

The Lord Jesus fulfilled his promise, Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 am in the Huntington Congregational Church, 19 Church St., Shelton. Private Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
