Nicholas P. Luise, age 83, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on December 29, 2022, at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of fifty-nine years to Ernestine “Ernie” (Zampetti) Luise.
He was born in Orange, New Jersey on June 21, 1939, son to the late Nicholas J. and Sophie (Polkowski) Luise. Nick was raised in New Jersey and moved to Shelton in 1978. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s of Science. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed for over thirty years at UPS and retired as the Vice-President of Marketing in 1994. Nick is currently on the Board of Directors for the Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys and Girls Club. He was a former Board of Director for the Birmingham Group, VNA of South Central CT, Valley YMCA, International Board of Gift of Life, Hewitt Foundation, Rotary District 7980 Gift of Life. He was also a member of the City of Shelton Ethics Committee. Nick loved good food, golfing, and traveling.
In addition to his loving wife Ernie, Nick is also survived by his daughter Jennifer (Derrick) Champagne, granddaughter Aimee Champagne, brother Joseph Luise, nephew Christopher Luise, and great-nephew Erick Luise.
Friends may greet the family on Friday December 30, 2022, from 4:00 pm — 7:00 pm at Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, Connecticut. Friends may go directly to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave. Shelton, Connecticut, on Saturday at 10:30 am for his Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hanover, New Jersey.
