Norman Arsenault

Norman Arsenault, age 80, of Shelton, passed into eternal rest on Friday, April 24, 2015, at Hewitt Health & Rehab in Shelton surrounded by family, including Barbara (Brown) Arsenault, his loving wife of 58 years.

Norman served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves from 1954 to 1962. He was a member of the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16 where he was past 2nd Vice Commander. He worked as a produce manager at Pantry Pride for over 30 years and retired as Supervisor of the Bridgeport Region.

He was a lifelong Mets fan and an ardent UConn Husky supporter. Norman will be remembered for his love of family, always finding time for his children and grandchildren, coaching sports and gardening.

In addition to his wife, Norman is survived by his daughter Sheila Arsenault, and sons Retired Shelton Police Captain Richard Arsenault and his wife Annemarie, Robert Arsenault and his companion Kimberly Sears, and John Arsenault and his wife Jill. He also leaves seven cherished grandchildren, Stephanie and Joseph Millo, and Karianne, David, Christopher, Adam, and Nina Arsenault, his great-grandson Vash, two sisters, Mary Jean Varese and Peggy Kennedy, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Norman Arsenault, Jr., and three sisters, Alana Flagg and Dee Fortsen, and Claire Flynn.

The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to join the family directly at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton, for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Burial with full military honors will follow at Lawn Cemetery.
