Olmstead “Bud” Sherwood Ennis, age 88, entered into eternal rest on May 29, 2012 at Hilltop Health Center, Ansonia.
He was the beloved husband of the late Elenore (Lamberson) Ennis and was a member of the Derby community for over 50 years.
Bud was born in Castleton, NY on June 21, 1923, son of the late William and Marion (Blythe) Ennis.
He had the distinction of serving his country with the US Navy during WWII and later was employed as a Technician at Sikorsky Aircraft for 35 years, until his retirement in 1988.
Bud, an avid walker, volunteered at Griffin Hospital’s Cardiac Unit, where he was well-known for his delicious banana bread.
Mr. Ennis is the loving father of Willis Ennis and his wife Donna of Fairfield, PA; Kerry Don Ennis, and his wife Michele of Port Orange, FL; Mark Ennis and his wife Kate of East Lyme;Shaun Ennis and his wife Kelly of Seymour; and Shaunna Gramolini and her husband Jamie of Derby; and the adoring grandfather of Bethany, Valerie, Travis, Kala, Lauren, Emily, Hunter, Dylan, Cody, and Mia.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Arline Gordon of Derby and several nieces and nephews.
Bud was the youngest of 9 siblings who predeceased him.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby.
A memorial service will be held directly following at 4 p.m. with Rev. John Collins officiating.
