Pamela Petro Pawlowski, age 55, of Shelton, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 25, 2019, at home. She is the devoted wife of 31 years of John Joseph Pawlowski. Pamela was born in Derby on April 13, 1964, cherished daughter of late Ann Czajkowski Petro, and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
She attended UConn, where she earned a BS in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. Pam was a Process Engineer in the R&D department at Cheseborough-Pond’s, which became Elizabeth Arden and ultimately, Unilever, all at the same location in Trumbull.
Pamela was very active in the community, volunteering for fifteen-years with the Commodore Hull Thanksgiving 5K Road Race Committee and serving on the Griffin Hospital Advisory Board and the Spooner House Board. She was also a lifelong water safety instructor and swim instructor at the Shelton Community Center Pool. Pamela enjoyed growing annuals and perennials, especially sunflowers, to create beautiful arrangements.
She was an avid triathlete, swimmer, and Vermont skier. She was a passionate fan of the UConn women’s basketball team and attended three Final Four tournaments. Pam organized UConn football tailgates for her friends and family to enjoy. Her best times were when she traveled with her family to U.S. National Parks; including the Grand Canyon, Lassen, Acadia, Everglades, Hawaii Volcanoes, and Haleakala Volcano.
She is the beloved mother of Christopher Pawlowski and his fiancé Kristen Sewell, and Lauren Pawlowski. She also leaves a brother, Michael C. Petro and his wife Susannah, a sister, Melanie S. Petro and her partner Timmy Manion, and her brother-in-law Robert J. Pawlowski.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Monday from 4 to 8 PM. On Tuesday her procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, Shelton. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
