Pasquale A. “Pat” Coppola, 74, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sept. 30, 2016, under the care of Vitas Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda Marasco Coppola.
Pat was born in Derby on March 8, 1942, son of the late Angelo and Assunta “Susie” Cannizzaro Coppola. He was a 1959 graduate of Notre Dame H.S. in West Haven. He attended Northeastern University, majoring in pharmacy, and in 1964, was a member of its first graduating pharmacy class. Pat owned his own pharmacies and worked in the Valley area for over 40 years. He was a member of the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club where he served as president from 1984 – 1985 and a member of the Elks Club in Naugatuck and in Derby, serving as Exalted Ruler in 1989.
He is survived by a loving son, Matthew J. Coppola of Seymour, loyal grand-dog Oscar, a loving daughter, Suzanne E. Sliker (Todd) of Southington, cherished grandchildren, Justin, Audrey and Kevin, devoted brother, Leonard Coppola of Gilford, NH, devoted sister, JoAnn Bendler (Adolph “Duke”) of Naugatuck, sister in law, Marilyn Fusco (Alfred “Pudgie) of Stratford. Pat also leaves behind seven caring nieces & nephews and many beloved cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony “Sonny” Coppola and in-laws, Harry & Ann Marasco. Pat’s family would like to thank those who extended support and prayers.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 5, 2016, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, October 6, 2016, his funeral will take place at 10:30 am at St. Francis Church, 318 Church Street in Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial. Please meet directly at the church. Interment will take place privately in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck.
