Pasquale F. Altieri

Pasquale F. Altieri, age 78, of Derby entered into rest on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. 

He is the beloved husband of 58 years of Patricia (Shea) Altieri. 

Pasquale was born in Bridgeport on October 29, 1936, son of the late Albert and Jean (Cirillo) Altieri, and he lived in Derby for most of his life. 

He attended Harding High School in Bridgeport followed by Brown University, and then served his country with the US Marine Corps from 1958 – 1960. 

A great athlete, Pasquale had excelled in football and track and field and had a tryout with the Patriots in 1960 and played semi-pro football for the Ansonia Black Knights. 

He took over his family business and operated Altieri Press in Bridgeport until 1996, and since worked for the City of Bridgeport. 

He enjoyed coaching Pop Warner, loved to golf, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. 

He cherished his wife and family most of all, and loved to spend time with his grandchildren attending their sporting endeavors. 

He is the beloved father of Al Altieri and his wife Patty (Penland) Altieri, Tom Altieri, Patsy (Altieri) Gerckens and her husband Arthur, and the late Jean Anne Altieri. 

He also leaves two beloved grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Gerckens, and several nieces and nephews. 

He was also predeceased by a brother, Bruce Altieri, and a sister, Jean Anne Altieri. 

Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street Derby, on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

His procession will leave the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Wednesday for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Derby. 

Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby.
