Pasqualina “Tina” DelMonaco, age 91, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2022, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of sixty-three years to the late Anthony DelMonaco.
Tina was born in Formicola, Province of Caserta, Italy on September 2, 1930, daughter of the late Francesco and Domenica Cappella. She came to the United States at the age of nineteen and settled in Ansonia. Tina enjoyed Bingo, crocheting and UConn Huskies basketball. Above all, Tina enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family she so adored.
She is the loving mother of Mary Jane Jorgensen and her husband Roger, Diana Allegretto and her husband Stephen and Linda Abate and her husband Richard. Tina is the beloved grandmother of Stephen Allegretto (Tara), Lisa Sizensky (Peter), Jenna Allegretto Massaro (Michael) and Jason Abate, great-grandmother to Charlotte and Vincent Allegretto and Ella and Willa Sizensky. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Ida Alvarez and Anna Cappella, as well as many loving nieces and nephews, especially her nephew, Harry Carr (Jennifer), who she helped raise. In addition to her husband Tony, she was predeceased by sisters, Michelina Cappella and her twin sister, Anna Salemme. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Joan for being such a loving caregiver.
Visiting will take place on Saturday morning, February 5, 2022, from 9:00 to 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff Street in Ansonia for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Masks will be required for all services. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Memorial contributions in Tina’s name may be made directly to the Church of the Assumption.
