Patricia Jane Manion, age 79, of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to Edward M. Manion.
Mrs. Manion was born in East Haven, on June 15, 1934 daughter of the late William and Bertha (Chapis) Bowden and was a Shelton resident for most of her life. Mrs. Manion was the owner and operator of Patricia Manion Fabrics for over five years until her retirement. She was a former Adult Education Teacher at Shelton High School. She also was an employee at the former Larry’s Men’s Shop in Derby for 20 years. Mrs. Manion was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the White Hills Fire Company #5. She loved watching sports. She was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies, N.Y. Yankees, WNBA and Shelton sports.
Mrs. Manion is the loving mother of, Patricia (David) Legassie, Jed (Donna) Manion, William (Diane Smith) Manion, Michael Manion and Tim (Melanie Petro) Manion and sister of the late Richard Bowden . She is the loving grandmother of David (Chrissy) Legassie, Brian (Megan) Legassie, Mark (Dawn) Severino, Jordan Manion, Jenna Manion and her fiance’ Josh Krize, William (Megan) Manion, Christine Manion and her companion Dan, Dan Manion, Heather Manion and Christopher and Jillian. She is also the loving great grandmother of 9 great grandchildren and aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday (TODAY) from 3 – 7 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Wednesday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at St. Joseph Church. Her burial will be at the discretion of the family.
