Patrick M. Curley, age 70, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his home. He was the devoted husband of 39 years to Barbara (Wilson) Curley.
Patrick was born in Providence, RI, on August 30, 1945, son of the late Robert Francis and Ruth (Stevenson) Curley and was a Shelton resident for 40 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later was a Revenue Agent for the U.S. Treasury Department for 38 years before his retirement.
Patrick was very active in St. Lawrence Church, where he was a member of the choir, Folk Group, Gardening Angels and a Religious Education Teacher. He was a music collector with a passion for the music of the 1950’s and 1960’s especially the Beatles. Patrick was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan and also enjoyed gardening and meteorology.
Patrick is the loving father of Robert and Carol Curley, brother of, Mary Power and her husband Wayne and Ruth Curley-LeFebvre, and his mother-in-law Susan Wilson. He is also survived by 2 nieces and a nephew. Patrick is predeceased by his half-brother, Frank Curley, his father-in-law, Charles J. Wilson, and his brother-in-law, Norman LeFebvre.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Saturday, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church.
