Paul A. Passander, 82, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 20, 2015, at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine Bowolick Passander.
Paul was born in Derby on September 2, 1933, son of the late Albert and Leona Winters Passander. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed for the Ansonia Department of Public Works for 33 years, retiring as a foreman. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Paul was an active communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia where he sang in the choir, was a member of the Catholic Men’s Club, St. Joseph Men’s Society and Bocce League. He also helped with the annual Italian Festival and taught in the RCIA Program. Paul was proud to have attended and participate in 25 annual Retreats with the church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Robert M. Passander (Theresa) of Wellington, FL, Jeffrey P. Passander of Ansonia, Tracy K. Passander (Denise) of Jupiter, FL, brothers, Robert Passander of IN, John Passander (Diane) of Waterbury and George Passander of Stamford, 6 cherished grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a son, Paul A. Passander.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Paul’s funeral on Thursday September 24, 2015, at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church, (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY), 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Military honors will be accorded following Mass. There will be no visiting hours and private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
