Paul Barnett, age 82, of Seymour, formerly of Beacon Falls and Wallingford, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Griffin Hospital in Derby surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cabot, Vermont on November 10, 1935, son of the late Ashley Charles and Sara Louise Clark Barnett.
Paul was formerly employed as a Farmer at Elm Spring Farm of Beacon Falls and Co-Ag Farm of Wallingford. He loved milking cows and camping. Paul’s father was one of the original farmers that started Cabot Creamery of Cabot, Vermont. He loved being with his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts.
His loving family includes his four sons Ashley Paul “Butch” Barnett (Sandy) of Beacon Falls, William Dubiel (Valerie) of Hinsdale, NH, Donald Northrop of Ancramdale, NY and John Northrop (Sheila) of TN, his five daughters Becky Garland (Richard) of Guilford, VT, Nancy Giroux (Victor) of Guilford, VT, PJ Braun (Terry) of Hinsdale, NH, Karen Olsen (Jim) of Oxford and Mary Arcuri (Adam) of Naugatuck, his brother Carlton Barnett of Halifax, VT, his sister Lorraine “Midge” Parsons of Brattleboro, VT, his twenty eight grandchildren, his forty four great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Paul also leaves his former wives Vivian Dubiel of Guilford and Nancy Barnett of Beacon Falls. He was predeceased by his daughter Sheila Stalker, his brothers Jim, William, Elwin “Doodle” and Phillip Barnett and his sisters Louise Richardson and Madeline Law.
Friends and relatives may call at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Rt. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Paul’s life with the Rev. John Donnelly, Rector of Christ Church, Quaker Farms, officiating will follow at 7:00pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Paul may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
