Paul Frederick Reilly

Paul Frederick Reilly, age 81, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on Saturday April 11, 2020 in Lord Chamberlain Rehabilitation in Stratford. He was the devoted husband for 57 years of Diana Lee Smith Reilly.

He was born in Derby, CT on September 27, 1938, son of the late William and Mae Perry Reilly and was a lifelong Shelton resident. A dedicated and hard worker, Paul spent thirty years performing maintenance at Shelton High School, but his main love was his family.

Pop” as he was known to everybody, spent countless hours with his kids, grandkids and great-grands. As a gardener, his plantings were unique and plentiful, with roses and rhododendrons being the favorites. His passion for trains was matched only by his passion for traveling and camping with his family.

He is survived by his loving children Sean Reilly and his wife Yvette of New Britain, Tami Sara and her husband Kevin of Cheshire, and Jennifer Stager and her husband Chris of Terryville, daughter-in-law Shirley Reilly of Shelton, five grandchildren Melissa (Jon) Demeglio, Sarah Jecusco (Brian) and Jessica Jecusco, Reilly and Christopher Stager, six great grandchildren Brooklyn, Vance, Levi, and Roman, Brayden, Brianna. He is also survived by one sister Mary Ann Miller (Ken), along with more than 30 nieces and nephews.

The family thanks all those who assisted us during this time. Paul was predeceased by his son Gary Reilly and three brothers William, Dennis and Peter Reilly. Paul’s family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care over the last three years.

Due to the current pandemic health crisis a private burial was held in Riverside Cemetery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a day and time to be announced for the public to attend and support Paul’s family. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton are entrusted with the arrangements. Leave online condolences at www.riverviewfh.com
