Paul J. Augustine, beloved husband of Marlyn Post Augustine, entered into eternal rest on October 21, 2016 at Atria of Stratford.
Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Nazareno and Assunta Perilli Augustine.
Paul was an employee of Sikorsky Aircraft and had a long association with Presidential mission aircraft which spanned from the Eisenhower through Clinton terms. At the time of his retirement, he was Program Logistics Manager for Executive mission VH Presidential helicopters at Quantico. For his dedicated support of USAF rescue missions during the Vietnam conflict, he was awarded an honorary life membership in the Jolly Green Association, the Air Force rescue group. An avid softball player, he started in the fast pitch leagues in Bridgeport, CT and played slo-pitch for many years including seven industrial league state championship teams. Paul was a lifelong New York Giants fan.
Survivors include his loving wife Marlyn, daughters Debra Berescik, Jean Corbett and her husband Bill, son Paul and his wife Joanne, grandson Michael Berescik, granddaughter Rachel Augustine, and sister, Helen Malafronte of Orange. He was predeceased by brothers Carlo, Tony, Frank, John, Joseph and Louis, and sisters Rosemary Diehl and Ann Valko.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A memorial service will begin in funeral home at 11:30 AM and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
